In the Flush Mitre Portlight the acrylic has been moved as far forward as possible to make it approximately flush with the mounting surface, to do this 12mm acrylic is used where portlights normally use 8 to 10mm. The outer frame as been made as flat as possible and the angled face of the Standard Portlight as been removed. This has increased the quantity of alloy in the frame.
The outer frame is powder coat black in color to camouflage to the acrylic lens; this is more costly than the anodizing that is normally used.
